Kindness/Autism Lesson for Gerald

Shared with kiddos that a young boy with Autism was celebrating his 18th Birthday and he loved to get the mail everyday.  His birthday wish was to receive lots of birthday cards! 

I shared the video with the kiddos and I asked them how can we be kind to Gerald and of course they all wanted to make him a special Birthday card so that's what we did!! 

We made cards and took a group picture wishing him a Happy Birthday and I sent it all in the mail! 

Great way to teach them a little bit about Autism and how important it is to be kind to others and give back!! Sooo Proud of these First Graders!!
